My earlier work tended to be much more rambling since my becoming a conceptual artist in October 2007 instead of the documentary photographer/photojournalist that I had wanted to become since graduating from Yale University in 2001. During the next two years, I was rather prolific in trying to resolve both my personal mode of expression and the visual engineering of various concepts I wanted to probe further whether it be the world of fashion models or the mysterious acts of terrorism caused by the Baader Meinhof gang. The turning point was my solo show at envoy enterprises after having worked on interview portraits which was my first major project examining the social networking and power dynamics within the contemporary art world, a topic that is considered somewhat taboo amongst the participants.
