My series of industrial landscape drawings reflects an incessant desire in the nature of serial representation based on sociological cues. Taking inspiration from the examples of the Bechers' mesmerizing photographs of industrial/urban structures, I decided to work on a more personalized series of isolated urban building/object/structure drawings that reflect an interest in the impact of humanity on the environment and the shifts within our cultural desire to have something new and fresh at the expense of recycling lost history. I hope that my drawings can reflect the stark beauty of scenes along Utah's Wasatch Front being depicted in these subtly minimal and monumental landscapes where nature and machine/man-made buildings intersect.
