qi peng, conceptual artist

These are some examples of my early work ranging from the middle of 2003 until September 2009.

I create both abstract and figurative works using my iPod touch/iPhone or Palm Pilot. My vision of the artist is that of a digital archaeologist, mining for data that reflects my own personal taste and whimsy, thusbridging the tradition of the artist's self-portrait as a coded set of interests as outputted into my artwork. My digital works (drawings or photographs) are converted into c-prints mounted on Sintra or inkjet on canvas to form "traditional" paintings. I believe in testing the limits of redefining the boundaries of paintings and drawings.
